Partnership and the Power of Awakening
This is what a full Libra moon, combined with retrograde Jupiter in Sagittarius, is offering us now. When the moon is in Libra, we are keenly aware of the need for ‘other’, as Libra feels ‘incomplete’ without partnership. We know the ebb and flow of life and notice, longingly, that it is in ‘other’ that our sense of security, love, comfort, and healing, lies. If we are lucky to have a partner at this time, we feel whole in the relationship, happy to be there, and working it all out. If we do not have a partner, the desire for one can creep in, making us aware of our aloneness or suddenly becoming aware of how a partner could really support us in this life.
With Jupiter in its home sign of Sagittarius, in good connection to the moon (sextile), we are seeking a spiritual wholeness and expansion of our world view through a partnership union in which our spiritual goals are valued. During this retrograde motion, we are invited to look further inward at our own beliefs and spiritual path, and the areas where we live by our own inner guidance, that are distinct from society. Connecting with a Libra moon, we are intuitively seeking a partner that could help expand our own inner belief systems and faith. Sagittarius’ role in this is to create an opportunity to explore beliefs, spiritual knowledge, and that which takes us far - a relationship that truly means something. A partnership that could form in this time, for example, is perhaps we meet someone from a foreign country. In this dramatic way, we are asked to expand our understanding of partnership. During this transit of Jupiter in Sagittarius, we may also see that we need more freedom, or perhaps that we like the freedom we already have and would like to incorporate a partner into that experience. However, it is not freedom from people this encourages, it is freedom from the mundane. It is a desire to go farther than before without the thought of where we might end up. Whatever our sense of this time may be, it is above all, an opportunity to expand our view of partnership, to connect with our spiritual beliefs, and to consider including ‘other’ in our current adventure.
In addition, Saturn and Pluto are conjunct (adjacent and collaborative) in Capricorn right now. Saturn, the karmic debt-collector, crystallizes and Pluto, the transformer, dissolves, so it’s a difficult aspect. But really, quite fortunate. Pluto asks that we examine deeply, surrender, and let go to allow for something new. In the south node, its current position in Capricorn, as it conjuncts Saturn, we never lose track of this medicine and we just somehow master it, carry it with us and move towards the opposite experience. With Pluto and Saturn there in the south node (our past), we can see very clearly what structures we have built in our lives, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, and how they serve us. If they do not, they must go...and often that doesn’t feel good. But in the end, we are more realistic, more grounded; masters of that realm when it comes to which houses are affected in our individual natal charts. We are then more able to go about being the kind, intuitive, deep, mothering aspect of Cancer (as it is in opposition in the north node). It’s a tough path to that north node in Cancer when we have to move through Saturn and Pluto fueled with the ambition of Capricorn, but it is deep, profound, and the blessings are many.
The advice here is that time and patience are your best friends. Pluto is currently and continuing to decimate all of the structures that no longer work, for the next three years, and it’s painful. Saturn is going to decide and rebuild the ones worth saving. Capricorn is the builder; Pluto is the destroyer. While it seems slow and like everything is being taken away, you are becoming stronger, and more solid in those particular areas, in a more realistic way. It is time to take only what you need into the future that’s meant for you. During the heaviness of this Capricorn transit, we need some lightness and hope. This Sagittarius transit, which is lovely in itself, gives us hope for the future, and when combined with Libra reminds us that love is our ability to expand our faith in the universe, that not everything has to be so heavy when we take it in partnership with someone who reminds us of our freedoms.
